Since it's inception in 2004 the academy has strived to provide a
practical course for chefs by chefs without the added extras that are
not relevant to the kitchen.

We offer the most practical intensive course in South Africa with hands-on classes everyday, no demonstrations
with students sitting watching instead of cooking themselves.

Our instructors are qualified chefs with industry relevant experience whose primary responsibility is to equip
graduates with the skills and confidence to successfully enter the industry. Classes are limited to 16 students
to ensure proper knowledge transfer.

We do not chase competitions or encourage celebrity. Instead we offer repetitive training of the basic principles
of cookery in an environment of one-on-one tuition. We care about our students' abilities because they reflect
on our brand.

Past graduates have excelled in the industry and run top kitchens in Cape Town, The Test Kitchen, Cavalli Estate &
The Greenhouse to name a few.Others have gone on to open their own business such as The Creamery, Woodstock Bakery

    Our Courses

    One Year Full Time

    This Diploma Course is unique in that is conducted by internationally acclaimed chefs who offer practical hands-on cooking lessons every single day .

    The one year Diploma and Patisserie Course is the most practically intensive course in South Africa: what other schools complete in two years, we finish in one. What this means is that you are earning good money and climbing the career ladder in year two, instead of sitting in a classroom.

    On graduation you will be armed with the necessary skills to confidently join the ranks of professional chefs around the world.

    The Diploma and Patisserie Course offers:
    220 days of expert tuition, including a cooking practical every single day.
    Job Interviews on graduation. We guarantee you an interview at a top establishment of your choice or similar, using our extensive industry connections. The rest is up to you.

    If you are accepted onto the course, you will receive:

    Full chefs uniform, including foot wear
    All quality ingredients and equipment is provided
    State of the art stainless steel workstations, in secure and upmarket premises
    An internationally recognised City & Guilds qualification
    A skill which enables you to work locally, abroad, on cruise ships or even a private yacht
    Accredited by City & Guilds and recognized by SA Chefs Association, your diploma is internationally recognized and accepted when you travel abroad.

    SIX MONTH DAY RELEASE

    If you are currently working in a hotel or restaurant kitchen and would like a formal, recognised qualification, then our Part Time Block Release Courses will suit your needs.

    It is imperative that you are working in a kitchen before applying for these course, as we will cover the Theoretical component, while you complete the Practical work ‘in-house’.
